    What color do you prefer when it comes to the color of your violin?

    attached are some color samples...which do you like the best? numbered from top to bottom 1-4. #4 being the shot of the full back

    I like 2 and 3 best.. Looks like #2 has two colours? one end looks more red the other more brown.. I think I like the brown end best

    so my priority would be #2,#3,#1,#4

    Your right Berg # 2 has two colors. The one on the left is more red than the one on the right.

    I guess a lot has to do with the grain and flame of the wood itself. A strong tiger stripe can look real good in a blond or yellowish varnish. I think I look more at the wood than the color, even the top with a nice straight, tight grain seems to stand out more than the color. Just my 2 cents.
